I have purchased Outlook 2000, put all my contacts into it, and want to sync. Since I had previously been using Palm Desktop, I knew I had to reinstall Palm Desktop and specify Outlook as my PIM of choice in order to install Palm Mirror. So I did that. I have set the actions for the contacts in Outlook to overwrite the handheld, and for the rest, for the handheld to overwrite Outlook.

But when I try to sync, I get this message:

"Your handheld has not previously been HotSynced to the currently open Outlook profile (duh!) (or you have changed your Handheld user name). If you want to add your Handheld to the list of authorized Handhelds to be synced with this Outlook profile, see the online help topic 'Syncing Multiple Handhelds to the Same Profile.'"

But I'm not using multiple handhelds!

Help!

Never mind. I fixed it. I fiddled with everything, looked at everything, changed whatever looked like it could be changed -- and something I did worked! Of course, I have no idea which thing actually solved the problem.

Oh well.
