Definite sell
I just got done reading all the posts to this tread and I must say that I'm also in the "I'll be buying one" category. I do have two questions though.
The first is how well it will fit in the generic Visor leather case, the one that ships with the Visor Dx (I don't know if it ships with the standard Visor)?
The other more important question is how does it lock down? Does it clip down at the bottom or is there some mold design at the hinge which causes it to stay in the closed position until you apply enough force to open it?
Glue?
The flip cover looks great, and it's something that I would love to have on my visor. But looking at the pictures, one thing kinda nagged at me.
Is the little piece actually glued onto the visor? I'm frankly a little nervous about attaching anything that way, since it might be difficult to remove if for some strange reason I ever change my mind and decide I don't like it.
Is there a less permanent way to attach something like this without having to worry about how secure it is?
No Glue! (heh)
No the part doesn't glue onto the Visor. It holds itself on there. Youll have to see it i guess. but i repeat, no glue (unless you want to glue it. ;') )
and to answer the post before yours...
Yes ,it will fit in the black clase that ships with the VDX.
and
Yes, there is both enough friction and a hinge bump that holds the lid closed.
Count me in as one of the first to buy one as soon as your site is live.
Any timetable for that? Will you be shipping by this Christmas time?
Keep up the good work. Happy holidays to all...

Here we go again....
Well I'm launching the site tonight. I plan on traveling this weekend, but I'm trying to get something up to take orders before I leave. Take a stroll through and let me know what you think.

Glad to see that you are taking the questions directly from VisorCentral and using them for your FAQ section !

Flip cover work with Prism/Minstrel combo?
Does this Flip cover work with the Prism/Minstrel combo?
MS
I am definitely interested. And, of course, you will contact me first before you make these available to the general public!

). I would like to know myself. I think that we may go through a revision after they get into the publics hands and we have a ton of suggestions and feedback on what works and does not.
That was, of course, a joke sastian. I wait with the rest of the drooling customer wannabes!

Shipping to Canada??
Hey sastian,
First off, wonderful looking product. I can't wait to see how the final production models look. Someone has to get you a digital camera this holiday season so we can see more pretty pictures while we wait for our own Flip-Clip and Flip-Lids.
Quick question: How will you be shipping? Will you be able to accept payment and ship to Canada? How about to other countries?

Hey,
I was wondering if you can put some of these up for auction on ebay??
thanks..
Have you contacted Handspring about this? It seems like a natural product to co-brand on their own site, or even with Palmgear. Heck, I'd bet CompUSA and other chains now heavily promoting the Visor would go for this one.
But then that means you'll have to be prepared to make lots of money from all of us Visor owners who have been waiting for a colored flip lid, envying the Palm folks.

Shipping?
I've noticed that the site has been getting gradual updates for about a week now, but the "Buy" page hasn't changed. Any ideas when we'll be able to start ordering these? I'd like to add one to my Christmas list.

Yes we have contacted Handspring and plan on being in the next HS product catalog. As far as the rest go, we'll see how the initial response is on our own sales. Then we'll look into getting a distributor. (although we have been talking with CDW about shaving thm sell our product)

You will be able to place an order one way or another by the end of this week. whether it be via paypal or our online store. one (or both) will be up. (if not you have my permission to start the eggings)
This may be a little late to be of any help but the folks who do a lot of the shareware registration, http://www.kagi.com, offer a good entry-level e-commerce solution if you have the HTML coding background to set it up properly. I just got a site up for a local non-profit organization and so far, so good.
Some Advantages:
- can handle sales to non-US countries
- no upfront fees, only pay a percentage
- no need for a merchant account - the credit card payment is made to Kagi and they pay you once a month by check
Some Disadvantages:
- takes a little doing to get your store looking decent, their model is more geared to a short list of software products
- purchaser will see Kagi on their credit card statement, not your company name
- fees are on a sliding scale and are pretty steep for cheaper items
[Not affiliated with Kagi, just a suggestion...]
