You could get an X-10 IR receiver. That along with the omniremote software should be enough to control all of your X-10 devices. you would just need to "teach" the Visor the IR commands with a X-10 IR remote.
I plan on trying this out as soon as my Visor shows up
Great idea, Shultzman. I hadn't thought about using the Omni remote software. I know you are still waiting for your Visor (what else is new), but have you heard anything about the range of the IR?
Problem being: Not all X-10 devices use IR. In fact, often they use RF. I personally would like to use a MouseRemote emulator Springboard or at least something to control BOOM.
I would love a MouseRemote springboard. I've got one to control my X10 stuff and my Creative DVD player. Especially one like the OmniRemote where you can draw buttons to do stuff. My place is like a large closet but I've got all the lights and a fan on X10 so I can control them with the PalmPad remote deal that you get. If I could do all that with my Visor and control the TV and whatever else OmniRemote controls I'd be set.
Man, I'm lazy.
The stock X10 promo kit comes with a transmitter that sits on your serial port. Just get that linked to either a springboard or an external clip-on adaptor (like a tail-light. 8-)
