This seems to be a fairly big deal every time it happens.

Just curious if those who are affected by DST had their Visor's time updated properly.

I use TimeSync to keep my pc and prism time the same.
It also will adjust for DST if you let it.

I installed DST Panel on my VDx an year ago and now I don't have to worry about DST anymore. Nifty little app.

My wife and I had to set the time on something like 17 clocks, watches, and electronic devices (my Visor and her PP Personal included). And we haven't even set the car clocks yet. Arrgh!

I love the quote in your sig ... by the way, did you see the mini-series on HBO on the Apollo missions?

The strange thing was, I was in Italy last week which switches over to DST a week earlier than we do. CityTime did a great job of automatically updating the time for Rome (which puzzled me at first, until I figured out that Italy had gone into DST).

But now that I'm back home in the USA, I had to switch the time on my own. Weird! I think I'll look into DST Panel. Now if I could only get something similar for all my other clocks and those pesky appliances with timers in them.

no problems here using DsHack 2.1.2 - though I've just updated to the latest version 2.1.3 from www.benc.hr

emeyer-

Unfortunately, I don't get HBO. I have the "one step up from basic" DirecTV plan.

The quote was from Kennedy's speech to a joint session of Congress on May 25, 1961. I rented a videotape called "The Space Movie" (Virgin Productions, vintage 1975 or so), and the speech was included at the very beginning of the movie.

I don't use any special programs or hacks, and my time did not adjust properly (Vdx, 3.1H3), even though my home location is set to DST starting from the first Sunday in April.

Since I was going to be up I had DateBook alarm at 2 am so I'd go around and change all the clocks ... then I got back to my desk and found that my Visor didn't change itself, though my Mac did. CityTime was aware of the change, but I still had to change the time myself.
I'll be hunting up DSTPanel now.

Wink

Need a new poll:

How many load up their system resources for events that only happen 2x/year.

btw - just put in DST Panel. No appreciable slowdown. One less clock to change! Suppose I can always clean house later if the VDX gets too loaded.

Since I use my Visor as my alarm clock, I figured I could afford the 7K to not have to fiddle with it. (Even if it was only twice a year.)

Is there a time change notification?

I used DST panel and it did set the time on my Prism.
Unfortunatly, I also got a Fatal Exception. Here is what I think happened:
DST Panel changes time
Palm OS notifies each app of the time change
Some app doesn't handle it properly
crash
Q1) Anyone know if this is correct?
Q2) Anyone know of an app that will walk through the apps and deliver this time change notification to help find the offending app
(I saw an app on PalmGear some months ago that did this for power on notification so you could find the app that was crashing on startup)
Thanks,
dennis

Yes that is correct, sysAppLaunchCmdTimeChange.

ResetEmu 0.1

By the way, the app I mentioned earlier is ResetEmu and can be found at PalmGear at: http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...mp;prodID=12416

I emailed the author and he modified it to send the abovementioned notification. Unfortunately, nothing bad happened, so if I want to debug the crash, I'll have to play hack-roulette and keep setting the clock back to 1:59am on 01Apr01 :-(

Just use HOTTIME and your visor will never be out of time again. This prog updates the time on your visor to match the time on your computer every hotsync.

Now you'll never be late again!!!

Backup Buddy TimeSync

Actually, I use the Backup Buddy time synchronization option to update the clock on each hot sync. BUT, I usually don't hotsync on weekends at home but once to backup. Hence the desire for DSTpanel so I don't miss some crucial appointment right after a DST change, but before a hot sync.
I'm also anal and hate to have a lingering problem that's not debugged

AAAGGH! Win ME does NOT keep the PC clock accurate! It LOOSES TIME! Have to restart or adjust once a week or so! (not as bad as W98 was though)
