-- loose screen (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9993)
Hello,
I read a lot of this loose screen problem and I like to explain my expeirence with that
I bought a black Visor Deluxe at the beginning of Dezember. I realized very quick the losse screen at the top. I returned the Visor to my supplier and he gave me a new one, also black!
The same problem again, I went back to my supplier. We opened around 4 or 5 black Visor Deluxe boxes (they were all sealed) and checked the Visors!
All had the same problem, all where black!
At the end I took a blue one and also checked the coloured Visors: Equal of which colour, the were all ok, no problem with the looses screen.
It seems to me, thet the looses screen is only a problem of the black Visor Deluxe.
My question to all the losse screen users: Which colour had your Visor?
Did you noticed also the problem only yt the black Visor Deluxe?
It would be interesting to figure out if it is "only" a problem which depends on the colour of the Visor.
Thanks in advance for reply

interesting
I had heard of the problem before mine had it. Mine is black, had it since April 2000. A couple of months ago, I noticed it had come loose.
My friend has an Ice which he got a month or so after mine and treats not as good as I treat mine, and his screen is still o.k.

hmmm. I have a visor solo(only comes in black), and I've had two- the first I returned because of the wobbly screen. the second one has since develloped the same problem, but now they won't take it back. my guess is because I'm no longer under the 30 day money back guarentee...

black VDX. same problem. doesn't seem to affect anything, tho.
I have a graphite DLX and it also has the loose screen problem - most noticeable at the top left but also at the top right. Called CS and they said I could RMA it but it's seem such a hassle at the moment
A folded post-it note inserted at the top of the case permanently fixes this. Caution: It is EASY to do but will void the warranty.

Visor DLX screen problem
Out of interest, how does a PostIt note invalidate the warranty? I called HS and they said they would replace my unit (the TS guy said his unit was also a bit loose at the top!)
I have a graphite model with a loose screen, too. This is my second loose screen model. My three coworkers (all graphite) have the loose screen issue. Doesn't really effect anything, just annoying.

I've had two Blue DX's and both their screens were loose. On the first one I took it apart and put pieces of Post-It in it and it was rock solid! Alas broke the screen on that one. My replacement also has a loose screen, but I've yet to put Post-It pieces in it. It doesn't annoy me as much as the first so I may just leave it alone. I only really feel it when I clean the screen.
Now did you break the screen putting Postit notes in it or was that incidental?
Out of interest I stuffed a couple of Postit slips under the frame that holds the screen down (lots of play there) and while it made the screen tight, of course there was no nice way to keep the paper there. I was wondering how it worked. Opening the machine is not for the faint hearted viz. myself! I would prefer to RMA it and since they send you one before you send yours back you can check before sending the one one back.
