Hey all,
I'm on the market for a case, but I'm incredibly undecided. I find that most cases require that you taint your Visor with putting velcro patches on to hold the PDA in place. Are any of these Handspring cases velcro free?
Where are all the velcro free cases?

I believe those use the snap on plastic like the cover that comes with the Visor. It is inbedded in the case.

You may want to look at the Vaja cases. Directcase.com has them and a lot of others.

Sorry, can't tell you for sure about the cases you pointed out.

I use the Targus PDA/keyboard case (I have a Stowaway ).

The case comes with a mounting rail for the Palm V, which just got in the way of my VPl, so I used an exacto knife and cut it off. Rather than mounting the velcro on my Visor, I attatched it to the flip cover. When the flip cover is mounted in the case, I can then drop the Visor in.

I know, some people say this is not very secure, but with the thing closed, there is practically no way this thing is going to come out. The only time I really use my Visor in this mode is if I am going to a meeting and want to take my keyboard. Otherwise, it goes into a Targus generic case and I leave the flip cover attatched to the keyboard case.

You may want to look at the Heritage Zip-Around Palm Pilot Case - Leather (UPC: 0-2357230165-8).

Found it at Office Depot.

The Visor fits inside a Franklin-Covey type pocket on the left side.
There is an elastic loop for a pen/stylus next to this pocket.
There is a middle flap for a memo-pad on one side and paper bills on the other, with another pen loop.
The right hand side of the base unit holds lots of credit card sized items.
There are also two other storage compartments (inside left and inside right). It measures a bit larger than the form-fitting cases, but it has never gotten in my way.
If you insert the Visor with the protective cover (in back or front), the whole thing is very snug. If you don't use the cover, the Visor is freer to move around, but will not come out of the pocket unless you take it out (for hot-syncing, etc.). An Edge model might not work as well with this case, since it has a significantly thinner profile.
Very smooth zipper.
There is no place for extra batteries, but there is enough room inside for a creative person to figure out a way to add elastic loops, or something like that, to hold two or more extra batteries.
I use the top credit card slot to hold the HS Back-up Module.

The Rhodiana Visor (and Palm) case. Never had Velcro; never will. (Well, I hope not. )

I'm with you 100% re: No Velcro. And my Rhodiana case has served me well for over a year. (The belt clip attachment could be more durable, but it is definitely improving.)

As far as I know, the Handspring cases all use an embedded hard cover to attach the Visor... none of them use Velcro. Of course, this precludes using any oversized modules while in the case.

The E&B Slipper uses a pocket design to hold the visor... no velcro, no hard cover. Again, oversized modules are a problem, though they do offer one for the Visor/VisorPhone combination.

I am using one of those cases and the Visor snaps into the back - there's no way it can fall out. I tried one of the velcro-type cases made by Dooney & Bourke and ended up selling it on eBay. I loved the way it looked, but I hated the velco attachment. I attached the velcro to the module cover that comes with the Visor and the Visor kept slipping out, leaving the module cover on the case. The case made by Handspring is relatively small and fits right into my purse (I think mine is the Ultrasoft Calf case with snap closure). I know there are a lot of people who don't care for them, but its been the best one for me. My husband has one also and he likes his, too.

The cases from Handspring are velcro-free. I have one and find it works well. I hope Handspring will provide a case which will hold Springboards and perhaps a Stowaway in the future.

I have the Rhodiana, Vaja and incipio cases. None of these use velco to attach the PDA to the case. I also use the Handspring sportcase. It uses velcro to close the flap. Thant's all.

I have a case from incipio http://www.incipiodirect.com - it uses the visor's lid to attach. Doesn't come with it's own one though, unlike handspring's cases, so you have to put the one that came with the visor in the case. They have cool animal print designs
