-- Visor Retail Prices (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1165)
I was wondering if Handspring is going to regulate the prices that the retailers can sell the Visors for. Do you all think they will take the Palm approach and let them do whatever they want or be stringent and set limits? They seem like they would do the latter for some reason. I know someone said the Staple's price is the same as Handspring, but I wonder what a place like buy.com or other discount website would sell them for.
Palm is very stringent about their prices in retail stores. I'm not aware of why the same "regulations" don't cover online stores, but they do have a policy of not selling some Palms through E-Retailers like buy.com. For example: The IIIc, VII, and Vx are not sold online. You can find the IIIc and Vx at some stores, usually those who have a physical store, but they aren't any cheaper than they would be at a local store.
As for Handspring, I heard someone mention a couple months ago that they spoke with someone at Handspring and they said that they would set the prices.
