A very good and even handed review of the two systems. One correction, the Palm Vx 4.5" tall, not 4.7" (that's the Palm IIIx).

I've been using the Palm Vx for 10 days now, and have to say I love the form factor and "shirt pocketability" but I still long for the Springboard axpanadbility (especially with a 6-Pack module!). Only 4 more days before I have to make up my mind and return the Palm Vx or cancel the Visor Deluxe order.

I got the dimensions from the Datasheet on Palm's webpage. Thank you for your comments.

Also, I wonder if there is some confusion about infrared syncing. OS 3.3 has this built in while OS 3.1H does not. Most seem to think that downloading the IBM or Palm software will allow IR syncing, but the Second Opinion review indicates there may be a problem with OS 3.1H and the downloaded IR software. When the reviewer downloaded the Palm software, the Visor wouldn't turn on and required a hard reset (which deleted the downloaded IR software) to run again.

Hopefully, Handspring will address this and Visors will be able to IR sync. But, for now it seems like it's a question mark.

How do you like your Vx?

I'm thinking about the possibility of getting a Palm Vx... Where did you get it? How much did you pay?

Hehe.. I already bought the Palm V modem though... just looking for a cheap place to buy the Palm Vx.

I think its a pure design question. Visor and Palm V aim at different markets. They question is if you are willing to pay much more for much less (thickness) - or - to pay much less for much more (thickness).

After using a IIIx for a while I say thinner has its benefits.
