-- Prism Mask ROM to Flash ROM (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9245)

Question

This Hong Kong Site supposedly shows how to install a flash ROM into Prism. I don't have Chinese font on my computer so I can't read it. Any Chinese speakers?

Try machine translation!

I was able to machine translate it from Chinese to English:
(All on one line)
http://www.teletranslator.com:8080/...01/000008.phtml

If you dont have any luck with the line above, go to http://www.teletranslator.com:8080 and enter in the URL (select Japanese for the source language, yes I know it's a Chinese web page, it still works)

If you get a [file download/save] dialog box to save some file, just cancel it.. Sometimes this site does this for an unknown reason, the translation should still work.

(sometimes the site is slow, if it seems too long, (more than 1 minute, try reloading the page)

The report said that the maskrom on the motherboard of Prism can be changed with a flashrom chip. But it cannot be sure that HS will release upgrades for "flash" prism, and there might be some incompatibility problem with utilities like FlashPro or JackFlash.

BTW, it costs about HK$400 to perform the operation..

Thanks Eric & tenz! I'm not seriously considering doing this on my Visor but thought it was cool.
