Angry

Ok, I've had cradle problems for a while now, well since I bought the Visor, but this is getting bad. I have to really work on getting the Visor to sync up right. I have to hold it down or wiggle it in the base a few times and keep trying to get it to connect. I've cleaned the contacts and I've tried to seat it better, but no luck, it still syncs only half the time.

Does anyone have a better solution? I'm about to go out and buy a USB travel cable and just use it. Maybe that would work better.

A few things to try...

For starters, are you ensuring that the Visor is seated in the cradle properly? There's a little tab just above the Handspring logo in the cradle that is supposed to lock into the the little hole on the back of the Visor (just below the Handspring logo). Also, check to see that the contacts on the cradle appear to be correctly aligned and positioned. They should be sticking up almost to the top of the two black locating tabs.

Next, if you've had your Visor for a while and done any resets, load dbScan and use it to to clean out the Graffiti shortcuts database (known to cause problems and overall slow things down).

If that doesn't help, try soft-resetting the Visor. It seems that many sync troubles can be corrected by a reset.

If all this doesn't improve anything, try searching the forum for syncing problems and the solutions others have used.

You didn't state how long you have had the Visor, but could it be under warranty if it is a hardware problem? You state that you have to hold, wiggle, etc. and that to me reads hardware. Let us know what you find out!!
