-- Aren't The Pictures Misleading? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=12984)

Red face

I have to say that photos of the Edge (And silver Platinum infact) are very misleading for people looking at PDAs. The pictures they show make it looks as if the screen is black on white which its obviously not in real life. Pictures of the Deluxe, Solo, and Graphite Platinum show a much more realistic represenatation of what the screen looks like.

I understand theres difficulty in taking photos of PDAs & their screen but they should "artificially" whiten them like they do. This isn't a McDonals hamburger which you expect to look & taste difference than whats in the commerical, this is a $400 PDA monochrome.

BUT, I think that if it's a $400 PDA, you should go to the store, and play around with it, AND THAN BUY IT. I mean tht goes aganst Online shopping, but I would order a McDonalds Burguer online, but only a Visor, If I have heavily researched it.

People who buy naivly can be very stupid. They don't know to but central after the products name! VISORCENTRAL.COM!

heheh

The screen is closer to black on white, apparantly.

Not quite as much as $400 but I bought my Deluxe online, back when they weren't in stores. I fully knew what kind of screen was comming with it because the pictures showed it this way.

The Handspring site states that it used the same screen as Deluxe & Platinum. Visor Central's own "First Look" confirms this stating "The screen is almost identical to Visor Platinum's, with one slight improvement: The backlight is noticeable brighter".

I just think that its misleading, especially since these aren't even available in most stores yet (If any). I own a Prism right now so I have black on white. If the Edge actually looked as good as it did in pictures then I'd consider getting it, since thats why I bought my Prism.

Thumbs up Just for the record...

I just placed my Edge next to my Visor Deluxe and the screen on the Edge is significantly sharper and more "black and white" than that of the Deluxe. I had the same Solitaire game on both unit's screens. It's a much different machine(better), although it's not for everyone I suppose.

If thats true than I take it back (Though my complaint still goes for the Platinum's screen). It seems like people have compared the Edge screen to the V's screen & I know from experience that the screen is much better.
