Wink

If one has a charging base for the visor, which modules support "Thru Visor" charging besides the Visorphone? I know some modules are rechargable but NOT thru the visor. I am only aware of the visorphone but there must be others?

Charge Modules

Hello -

I would be interested in this discussions, for a different reason. I just posted a message in a different forum talking about the charging pins on the base.

Hmm -

I just read an article on the gadgeteer about making a charging plate for a Palm 3. It was several years old, but looked pretty neat. One complaint was the cells are not fun to work with. Well, this is now - and we have thin film flexible solar cells today.

I think that the springboard module has connections down to the USB connector to allow for charging springboard modules, although its not enabled generally. With a little warranty voiding wire work, you could run wires from those pins to the NiMH batteries that most people are going to. You could then put the caps and resistors to stop overcharging in an empty springboard case (finally find a use besides holding post its and mints!) and get a flip top that attaches to the spring board. Paste/embed the solar cells in the flip top, and you have a way to charge your Visor off of the grid.

I wonder if anyone would be interested in this sort of Kaizen? I don't know if there would be commerical interest, but I live in Arizona where sunlight is free and constant, and this would be a nice adjunct to my charger setup.

Cheers!

As you can see, this is somewhat in line with the topic of the thread. Knowing which pins connect to what ports on the springboard would make this a better wish idea.

Thanks,

According to this thread the Springport Wireless Ethernet adapter can be added to the list.
