-- USB on various operating systems (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1619)
I ordered a VDx [blue] with an extra serial cradle. I was going to use the USB on my work computer and the serial on my old Pentium 200mmx at home. My work computer has NT 4.0 and Linux. It appears that USB is not supported on NT.
At home I'm running Windoze 95 and Linux. I went to Circuit City yesterday and every USB board said "Requires Windows 98".
So here's the question. Can USB be made to work on either Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5 I think) or Windows 95 running on a 2 year old Pentium?
Thanks

I've found some post on some of the other discussion boards relating to this. It appears the answer is "No Way Dude!".
I have to either go serial, or move to Win 98.
I surfed around and found these articles:
http://www.microsoft.com/Embedded/p...ide/bluewat.htm
http://www.microsoft.com/HWDEV/usb/default.htm
http://www.usb.org/

and the final answer is here:
http://www.usb.org/faq/ans3.html#q2
": NT 3.5 and 4.0 (including service pack 4) do not support USB. Windows 2000 (formerly known as NT 5.0) will have full USB support."
For those of you who think that service pack 5 will fix it... bad news:
