How many use a 16MB Flash Module?

Just a little market research -- to see if the AudibleAdvisor is a potential fit for some...how many use or consider using the 16MB flash module (from Palmgear, etc.).

I am curious how many would opt for the AAdvisor, since it can double as one...

I use a 16mb memory module and wouldn't consider the AA unless it had at least 32mb. I use all but 4mb of my 24mb of memory, so to hear audio books or run mp3s I'd need at least another 16mb.

What I would really love is an MP3 player, like the Soundsgood that had at least 64mb of memory which I could allocate as I see fit between MP3s, Audiobooks, and program files.

Now, that I would pay for.

16MB Flash

I use a 16MB Flash card for my VDX and Prism to store seldom used programs like games and Inventory database programs.

If I were in the market for a flash module right now, I'd go with the AA. PalmGear currently lists the 16mb Step-Up Flash module at a sale price $113 (reg $119). For $129, the AA with the additional audio capability seems to be a good buy.

Of course, it would have to be ice-colored and FlipCover compatible.

Well, I already have the Thinmodem+, and excellent deal, and it is getting short on memory. For this reason, I would be interested in the AA with 16MB, especially since I use the Thinmodem+ infrequently because I mostly work from my home office with DSL access to the Internet and e-mail. On the other hand, audible books and extra RAM would be a real boost.

What I would need to know, is how to keep the Thinmodem+ and AA module in sync for the apps/DBs that I want to have in Flash all the time. And, I would need to be convinced that the selections over at www.audible.com are enough in line with my interests to make the subscription worth it.

A workable answer for these issues would make me an AA buyer before you finish reading this note.

Not Ready to Commit

I've been lurking around various expandable memory solutin posts for a few months now, and I just can't commit to one (or afford many!) From what I've gathered so far, adaptors like MemPlug have greater storage capacity, but are mostly limited to just storage; PiDirect nonwithstanding, running apps seamlessly off of SM or CF cards ain't there yet, it seems. Flash memory is a much more compelling solution for me (though I'm really trying to bide my time until Handspring introduces the Prism II with 16 or even 32 megs built in, running Palm OS 4 on a next generation StrongARM processor, etc. Dream on, I know...)

However, the rather-specialized enhancement of Audible content on top of 16 MB flash isn't quite enough incentive for me either, especially since it requires an ongoing subscription. Double the flash to 32, but don't double the price, and I'm there. Do-able?

I use the 16MB Flash, I keep most of my programs on it and leave just the databases on my Visor. I have a lot of Word Smith files that I use and create at work so having the module store programs is a big plus.
Also I love having all of my games available whenever I want. I've got about 50 in my flash.

The way this works out, I have 3 MB free on my flash and 5 free on my Prism.

For me to use the Audible on my Visor, I'd be like LaoTzim. I would need it to hold at least 32 MB. (I use an iPAQ for my Audible files right now. In fact that is the ONLY thing I use the iPAQ for!)

i own a hagiwara 16mb modual and 2mb visor. i have about 5mb free on the modual that i save for when i put the large noahlite dictionary database on it. and 200kb free on the visor.

Hi,
I got the Hagiwara Sys-Com 16 MB Flash Module. I use it to store all my favorite Plucker and TomeRaider eBooks. Plus a lot of freeware palm applications / games is store on it. I'm a happy camper with this module
