Screen Protector for Visor Prism

I am using a Fellowes WriteRight 98024 screen protector on my Visor Prism and am less than impressed with the results. Is the 98033 version for the IIIC and the Prism better? What screen protectors do you use on your Prisms?

I found that my personal favorite for the Prism was the www.PDAScreenProtectors.com Generation 2 (G2's). These are a scratch-resistant, slip-in, crystal clear protector. They can be removed and cleaned as needed, and are a decent value for the money.

Their biggest drawback is that to install them, you need to violate a basic rule of physics! Well- not quite, but it feels that way. The flexing need to get them in is a bit tricky, but most people get the hang of it quickly.

I used to make my own using inkjet window decals from Staples. They were very clear and scratch resistant. Unfortunately they had a water soluble coating, which turned white with any drop of water.

I got lazy and started using "free" CompanionLink screen protectors. They feel like vinyl, but are fairly clear. No scratches from my stylus after 4 months, although it didn't like the dry skin on my finger when I tried to wipe off some fingerprints. They still have their "free" promotion, but USPS shipping is $7!:

I personally use screen protectors from this site: www.newtonelectronics.com. They have 16 screen protectors for $9.99 and shipping is only $2.00. From my experience, they don't leave bubbles and the best part is that they don't use glue like fellowes or belkin.

I have an even simpler, cleaner, and cheaper alternative....

1) Go to Walmart's fabric/craft section.
2) Buy the thin vinyl stuff (don't remember what it is called) - it is about $0.89 per square YARD.
3) Make a template the size of your Prism screen, then cut out a piece of the stuff.
4) It will adhere GREAT by static electricity alone (I have never had one come off).

*I should note that to get them on without any air bubbles or dust underneath can be a little tricky. I typically blow my screen and the vinyl piece of with a shot of compressed air first, adhere one end of the stuff, then "squeegie" it on with a credit card very slowly.

If done right, you cannot even tell it is on - the display is crystal clear! With a square yard of the stuff, you could replace it weekly and still have enough of the stuff for more than a year!

To make it even better, I spray a little liquid silicon onto a rag, then rub it into the screen cover once it is installed. Then your screen is protected, and your stylus moves across the screen "like buttah"!

Like I said, simple, clean, and cheap!
