They are available direct from manufactor and from Amazon.

If you want a Prism version show your support! email them about your concerns.

Pretty good review. I would have done testing like that, but I can't afford to buy PDAs just to break! I'm a poor little student!

Anyway, I have dropped my VPL in my Active Armor plenty of times without any damage at all!

See my sig for my review!

Review of the Active Armor case

Posted by phurwitz on 05-06-2002 01:42 AM:

Question What about the SprintPCS WWDL?

Michael,
Can you elaborate on using the Active Armor case with the Visorphone? Or more specifically the SprintPCS WWDL?

I really like the look of this case but I want to make sure it will work reasonable well with the Visorphone or WWDL.

Thanks,
phurwitz

I wish I could but I can't. That little tidbit was the combination of me noticing things about the case and how it oculd be used, and talking to the developer. I did not have a VisorPhone to test it personally.

I do not own a Visor Phone either, however, with a little information I may be able to help. The groves you should be able to see in both reviews (see sig) is what you can cut out. I do not know what the spec is supposed to be, but by my measurements the opening would be 2 3/16 inches (55 mm) wide when cut out.

As long as the Visor Phone is no wider than that measurement (at any point) it should work perfectly!

Does this thing not support a detachable belt clip? After having used a RhinoSkin ShockSuit for nearly a year, I don't think I could give up the belt clip.

There is nothing like that integrated into the case itself. However, I don't see why you couldn't attach an adhesive belt clip. It might just fit upside down on the back, but it would be easier to have it on the hard plastic cover.

Sure, it won't look pretty, but it will provide the function your looking for.

Another possibility would be to find a holster type case large enough to accomidate the Active Armor.

And if you use the Amazon link in the article it supports VC.

Visor Phone compatible

We'll have full details on if the how the Visorphone and Active Armor case work together. We have a user beta testing the combo right now and will also post comments and pictures on www.activearmor.com in a few days. (I'll leave word here also.)

I think it will work well, but it is such a close fit and I wanted to have a regular Visorphone user run it through its paces to give it an honest evaluation.

Stay Tuned,

Hello Prism Design wanted.

Yes I own a Prism. I think most Prism owners would like one of these. "I know I would." and yes I will e-mail them.

But the posts I have read on PIC shows they are just dangling a carrot in front of us Prism owners. Been saying they would possible make one if intrest is demanding. DUH... I think Prism owners would be you biggest client..

Adhesive would stick well to this rubberI think. The more preferred way though is to just hook a mini-caribeaner to the provided holes at the bottom of the case to your belt/whatever. Works jsut as good IMHO.

I agree! The mini-caribeaner attached to a belt loop is my prefered solution when I don't have a free hand, as I stated in my review.

Just an fyi, i just tried out my visorphone with a graphite active armor version. what i have noticed is that it fits very well with the visorphone. however, you do need to make two cuts.

1) standard cut recommended by manufacturer for larger springboard modules. once this cut is made, the visor+visorphone unit fits very well and is quite snug.

2) if you use an earphone with your visorphone, a very small cut-out needs to be made to make room for the earphone plug.

overall, i highly recommend this product.

Any pictures of that second cut to accomidate the earpiece? I figured the module itself whould fit, but didn't know about a headset jack...

I keep my Visor clipped to my belt all day long. I don't want the thing dangling; I want it more solidly attached. Besides, how easy is it to blindly pop a mini-caribeaner off a belt loop with one hand? With the two-piece belt clip on my RhinoSkin ShockSuit, I can pop my Visor off in one fluid motion and then snap it back instantly without even looking.

BTW, I sent feedback about this to Active Armor and already got a reply from Dan (forgive me if I didn't remember your name correctly; the e-mail is at home) saying that he was going to experiment with such a clip and would get back to me. Now that's what I call service!

no photos will be available since i won't be having my digital camera with me for a couple of weeks. if you look at the visorphone, there is an earpiece plug. once a plug is placed there, it can rub up against one of the rubber protectors. a small notch of a cut and armor will be able to accomodate it.

RE: Prism

I just wanted to add my vote for Active Armor to make a case for the Prism. I have emailed them, but I wanted them to see my support here also.

I'd buy one the instant it was available (and one for my girlfriend...so does that count as two votes? )
