-- Outlook problems after Win2k upgrade...HELP! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8695)
Hi All,
Everything worked fine till yesterday when i did a clean install of win2k. Now I cant send any mail from outlook.
I get an error message saying something like "relaying denied" etc.
I managed to receive mails by making a new .pst file.
this is what i've tried so far.....
reinstalled win 2000
hard reset
got the latest 2000 update from handspring.
searched older threads, but didnt really help.
Both times this problem happens after I HotSync, however one thing i didnt try is reinstalling outlook, hard reset, and then HotSync. In the mean time, I would REALLY apreciate if anyone can give me their thoughts on this.
thanks a lot.

"Relaying Denied" usually indicates a problem with the ISP/SMTP settings. It's a form of security that many ISP's use to prevent spam mail. Basically, an ISP will prevent email from an IP address that is not it's own (where the SMTP server is).
Are you absolutely sure all the Outlook settings for the email account are the same as they were prior to the re-install?

Thanks for the reply.
yes i'm sure its right. Because the email account worked each time I did a clean install, but only until HotSynced....
does that make sense ??
