Question Newbe with a second hand Visor Deluxe

Hello!

Since two days ago I'm a happy Visor Deluxe user.

I know it is an old PDA, but I think it is a good PDA.

Because it woks with the 3.1 OS version, I'm a bit limited with the software I can install, but for the use I need the PDA it's enough form me (i.e. Docs to go 4).

Mainly, my questions are centered in to know which software is indispensable to install and power up the functions of the PDA. I mean haks, Launchers, etc.

The last question: Is it possible to invert the ilumination of the screen? I think if it was in "inverse" mode it will looks better.

No more questions yet!

Thanks in advance for your answers and my best wishes in this specials days.

Note: I write you from Spain, so I'm sorry if my english is not so good. Bye.

Arrow

I really believe software is a personal choice--
Docs to Go is great -- I use the stock launcher and no hacks soooooooo

Avantgo is fantastic for news and such--
\
and cspotrun is a great --small footprint FREE doc reader that also somes with most plug and play mem adapters allowing use from the card

I would get a memory expansion card (MemPlug, FlashPlus, etc.) to allow your device to 'grow'. It is amazing how fast you can fill it with pictures, e-books, etc. when you get going!

Launchers: The older versions of Launcher III were excellent, even when it was freeware. You can learn more about launchers and memory expansion at www.launchplug.com.

Free software: Try www.freewarepalm.com. Lotsa junk, but some really great stuff also- and most of it works on the Palm 3.1 OS!

I recommend:
FILEZ to manage the files (freeware)
TODAY to act as a simple launcher and organizer (freeware)
X-MASTER- freeware hacks manager, although I am not using any active hacks right now.
KEEPSLEEP (awkward to find- I can't locate my URL for it. Try searching www.cliesource.com, etc. for it.) to disable the hardware buttons so the PDA does not turn on accidentally. It also will disable all sounds for use in meetings, etc. It works under PREFS and seems perfectly stable.
DIDDLEBUG for memos, doodles, and simple alarms.
GEEKSOUNDS for more alarm options

Have fun with your Deluxe! It is a great machine!

Arrow OOPS==FORGOT

To invertr the backlight--

Enter the memo pad app and open a new memo. Input via Graffitti the shortcut control---( ) and then .8 .

That will invert the backlight --

Smile

Thanks to all!!!

I follow your comments and I install:
- Documents to Go 4 (demo version to try it) I think MiniOffice could be another option.
- X-Master (I found a free Hack called GreenLightHack that reverse the ilumination of the screen)
- Filez
- SilverScreen (it looks nice but a litle bit slow for the Deluxe)
- KeepSleep ( I found it at http://www.shin.nu/~FocV/KS/index.html and its very usefull).

Only a new Question: I use Palm Descktop 3.1 to syncronize and use the scheduler, but is there a better apps to manage the Desktop environment?

Thanks again and I think a new palmadict

I don't think the .8 shortcut (to invert the backlight) works on Visors.

Arrow Works on mine

Maybe it needs OS 3.5--
I never tried it on a Dlx OS 3.1

To invert the ilumination screen, the don't works good. It works only in the moment I apply it. If I try to set the screen in inverse mode again, I must to do all the process again, so I use the mentioned Hack.

I download Desktop 4.0.1 and it works great!

Thanks to all for your atention and happy new year!

Its the Little Things that Count

Its the little things that make all the difference. Go to TV Guide and download the Cable TV channels for your town, and all the towns you frequently visit. It is darn handy to have the channel guides conveniently available on Documents 2 Go.
