I had my first experience with having to do a hard reset on my Prism. Then, much to my chagrin, when I got to the digitizer screen, the Prism went into a continuous loop of showing the top left and lower right digitizer positions and would not go any further. I tried several more hard resets and also talked to HS tech support who authorized a return.

At that point, I figured, "What the heck!", so I opened the unit, disconnected the lithium battery (small plug from battery to board), waited a few seconds, and reconnected the battery ... and Voila! Everything back to original state and my Prism is working perfectly.

I hope this helps someone who has a similar problem.
