- Springboard Modules (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/forumdisplay.php?forumid=10)
-- If you had $100 for any visor springboard/accessory... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=15228)
I just received a $100 gift certificate to Amazon, and am thinking about getting a module or the Stowaway.
Anybody spent less than $100 to accessorize their visor and feel like they really got their money's worth on this module or that module?
Get the Stowaway. It is hands down the most useful for me. Otherwise, I'd get some flash ram & the backup module (more than 100, but....)

My first accessory was the flash ram, and it was worth every penny. I am now coveting a stowaway, so that'd be my next vote.

Stowaway. It's the only module I've really gotten my money's worth out of, and it makes the Visor more valuable to me because it's so much easier to use with a real keyboard.

I think you get the point
I love my stowaway
, and I think that it's the only thing that you can buy for under 100 that's worth while.

Well,
I personally would NOT pay $100.00 for a Stowaway keyboard. I payed $40.00 for mine when I went to office depot. (yes, it's the actual Targus Stowaway one!
) (but they were um... closing forever
)
However, it's a downright awesome keyboard, and it feels great! It is a rock-solid investment!
Also, be sure to check out SlickDeals.net ! They have coupons off of Amazon.com !

Stowaway 100%
Yet another vote for the Stowaway. I can't recommend it enough.
I'm a little confused as to what everybody favors thus far....

Thanks for all the replies. Despite the tremendous amount of disagreement and mixed messages I'm getting from the group, making my decision more difficult, I went ahead and got the Stowaway.
I'm also trying to track down the Handspring modem for 29.90 at a nearby Staples to turn my previously non-modulized, non-accessorized VDX into a quasi-laptop.
I'm a new poster but have been reading VC for awhile- a question to you grizzled veterans- is there anywhere on VC where people track Visor-related discounts at the Staples, Office Depot, Best Buys, COMPUSAs of the world?
Thanks again for the feedback.

On some relfection, I think I was mostly stymied...
Anyway, I just stumbled into a local Staples recently, and picked up a couple of the modems at $29.00 (haven't yet tried to use one).
Here's a 2nd vote for an ad repository, tho.

Sounds Goods = Fun
Yeah, I've had the stowaway since they came out and I use it a couple times a week, and it's design is brilliant... but a keyboard is kinda boring, don't ya think? I mean it lets you type and if you're writing alot on your Visor then it is a necessity, but not my idea of a fun product.
The Sounds Good MP3 module on the other hand has barely been out of my springboard slot in the 7 days I've had it. Sure it's a little over your budget, but I paid only $134.99 at Amazon (149.99 -15.00 discount that they are constantly running if you watch dealwatcher.com) and there is no better sounding or smaller MP3 player available. The only reason I waited so long is they provide no Mac support at all, and I hate to support a company that does that. But I finally broke down and use it with Virtual PC and it works flawlessly.

bkbk- I've been hunting all over for the handspring modem at that price, but every staples within 30 miles is cleared out. Do you really need all those modems?
If you don't have a back up utility like BackupBuddy, then buy the Back up module first. If you have that and don't have the memory module with the extra 8 megs, buy that one next. If you have these, then by all means, buy a Stowaway. I was in a meeting in Denmark where data was flying fast and furious. We were all scribbling notes as fast as possible with the usual result (scribbles for notes). I was able to sit at my table between sessions and transcribe the notes right there into my Visor Deluxe (using pEdit) and now I have a set of meeting notes that I can make sense out of. YeeHaa for the keyboard.
Backup + 8mb Flash = pass
