Cool

Just received my SoundsGood Mp3 module and I have to admit I am in LOVE with this thing! Within ten minutes (six of it installing the software) I was listening to MP3's off my Visor. Transfer rate was very quick and only took a few minutes to fill the 64MBs. My only concern now is that I enjoy it so much that I will be blowing through batteries using the MP3 player. Can't wait for the Energy Clip in November!
I am pleasantly surprised that the SoundsGood came out before the MiniJam. I only just heard about the SoundsGood a month ago and it is, from what I can tell, a better product. It flushes with the Visor. It can sit in the visor with the face plate on it. It will run when the Visor automatically turns off. Buttons and volume controls are easy to access. You can get rid of the headphones (the only minus) and insert some good new ones.

Great Job SoundsGood!!

Actually, I don't believe this is correct -- the MiniJam started shipping a wek or so before the SoundsGood, not that shipping dates so close together make any sort of practical difference.

No Bashing from this department. I just want to say that I LOVE my Soundsgood player. After waiting over three months for my Minijam to ship, I toyed with the idea of getting both modules and trying them out. However, once I had the Soundsgood player in hand, I knew there was no going back. Especially after being spoiled by the fast download times and great sound. No, I don't work for Good Technlogies, but I'd love to. I think they do an excellent job of product design and marketing. Can't wait for their future modules

It sounds like the soundsgood is a very nice module indeed. I was really excited about the Minijam, but I don't like the fact that it sticks out so much. I would really prefer something that sits flush.

I finally broke down and got a Rio 500 from audible.com ($99) last week. It sounds like the visor modules are a long way from playing the encrypted audible content, and I'm tired of waiting. Granted the $99 requires a membership commitment, but I was thinking about that anyway.

Couple of things struck me. First, What is up with the super slow minijam download times? How can it take 30 minutes to download 30 megs? 35 Megs takes about 2 minutes with the Rio, and it sounds like the soundsgood is just about as fast. If and when they get the soundsgood up to playing audible content, I'll probably have to buy one. I like the idea of having it with me all the time, by way of the visor.

I'm another big fan of the soundsgood. I was sick of waiting for the minijam, so when I saw there was another option I ordered one and it shipped almost immediately!

Having used the soundsgood for about two weeks now, I think it's just great. I've had no problems at all. And with its flush profile, high speed transfer, and longer battery life, I don't see any sense in purchasing a minijam. I'm glad I caught it in time (thanks for the slow shipping and empty promises, innogear) and didn't make the mistake of getting a minijam.

I just got my Sounds Good today. My early impressions are mostly positive. The file transfer is quick, and the desktop software is easy to use out of the box. The sound is very good. Using the module will cause some pretty loopy battery meter readings.

On the downside, the headphone connector is so tall that I cannot close my Vaja case while listening. I went to Radio Shack, searching for a set of headphones with an L type connector, but even that one was too tall. I guess that means I'll be spending another $40 bucks when the e-clip is available (the guy in Radio Shack suggested using a hole puncher to make a hole in the top of my case and got nothing but a blank stare from me in reply, no way no how!!!). If anyone knows about a set of phones with a smaller connector, please post it!!!

Also, I have to make sure I exit the sounds good app before removing the module (I have to do this with the backup module also). I didn't do this one time and it caused a reset loop, I had to hard reset the visor and restore my data from backup buddy to get going again. If you carry this module, you may want to keep your Backup module handy! I don't know if this will affect everyone. In my current configuration, I use Hackmaster (but I only use keyboard hack), Silver Screen, and the Stowaway keyboard (I often have to disable the driver when the keyboard is not in use)

Be forewarned, Any MP3 player is going to chew up your batteries, but I am willing to pay that price. Right now I am estimating having to change Batteries in a little over a week instead of the 2-week period I enjoyed before.

All in all, I give the thumbs up to the module. I like having a little over an hour of tunes by my side at all times. I really wish they would modify the connector on the phones. Although James complained about the size of the ear buds, they are not too big for my ears so far. I ordered Friday mid morning, and received my package around noon on today (Monday). Finally, a fun module to play with!!!

Cool SoundsGood IS Good

I just got my SoundsGood this afternoon, and I'm already listening to some tunes on it. What a FANTASTIC device this is! The transfer rate is incredibly fast, the sound quality is delicious, and the springboard is flush to the case! Without a doubt this is the best springboard I've bought yet (I've also got a HandyGPS and an OmniRemote).

I happen to also have a Rhodiana work through case, and using a small exacto knife I cut a small square out of the plastic ribbing, making a hole for the headphones (which I actually LIKE by the way). True, the headphone connector is a bit tall - I can't close the flip-top of the rhodiana with the headphones in. (And I tried an l-shaped one, and it was too tall too. darn!) I'll keep my eyes open for a lower profile set of 'phones, or maybe end up getting a different belt-clip case.

I definitely agree with Jeff Hawkins - this module will never leave my visor.

Lightbulb Visor Headset

Hi All,
With all these cool modules coming out for the Visor with sound (MiniJam, Visor Radio), I were just thinking it would be an cool idea to have a special Headset made that the Visor can mount on.
Imagine someone jogging in a park with one of these Visor Headset on.
What do ya'll think?

Byron
