Thanks for your help before folks...a new question....
Before I send my VDX back to Handspring, or even try to replace glass myself...
I wonder if anyone knows for sure if a hard reset completely "zeros" out the memory, fully erasing the data on it. i.e. similar to what would happen if you use a disk utility to reinitialize a computer hard disk.
(These machines have 8MB ram. i don't know if there is any other type of hard drive type memory in there...I guess removing the battery would theoretically take care of whatever's in RAM)
Yes... a Hard Reset is supposed to erase everything and return the Visor to its original configuration: empty except for the ROM applications and OS code. Removing the batteries overnight should also ensure a clean slate.
