-- Windows ME and syncing problems (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10000)
I just received my first Visor. After installing the software, I was able to Hot Sync for the first two days. Since then, I am unable to connect. When I check the status of my Handspring in my desktop computer's (Windows ME) Device manager, it's not there. So I add Hardware, and select the Handspring Handheld. (It's never detected automatically, or if it is, it is an unknown device.) After performing the adding Hardware step, I was able to hot sync once. Now each time I try to connect, Windows detects an Unknown Hardware device and tries to install software for it. Device Manager shows the Unknown USB device as not working properly. I can remove it from the list, but on the next attempt to Hot Sync, it is detected again as Unknown Hardware. I have removed the Handspring Handheld from Device manager and re-installed, but no luck in getting it to work.
Any ideas?
If you've already done the soft reset, and stopped hotsync, and restarted it.... You might want to try this suggestion. It worked for me (in Windoze Me too!)...
