Minijam question
I have a quick question about the minijam. I assume that the minijam modules are all the same, and the different prices are due to the differences in the MMC cards that come with it? If I buy the 32 MB minijam, I could later buy a 128 MMC card to put in, right?
Do you need to have the same cards in both of the MMC slots? Sort of like old SIMM memory for computers? Or can you mix and match MMC cards?
Also, a general questions, what is the largest MMC card that they currently have? That the Minijam supports?
Thanks for your help.
Chris
You can mix and match sizes and manufacturers of the MMC cards. Cards A and B do not have to be the same. I currently have a 32mb Innogear card, a 32mb SanDisk, and a 64mb Unity Digital card.
However, some manufacturers cards do not work with the Minijam. I cannot recall which, but it's not one listed above.
I think the max size available right not is 128mb.

Probably not related, but I just picked up a MiniJam for $14.00 on ebay. Don't even have a Visor anymore, but jeez, $14.00!
Darn you, I was bidding for that one and i do have a visor.

I hope you're being "funny"
Why don't you make an offer?
Kelley
The guy was selling 100 of them in a Dutch auction. I know I was only in until it went above $20.00. You just needed to go a little higher.
Wasn't trying to rub it in or anything, just happy to find a deal on e-bay finally.
I bought mine for $60 shipped and it came with a 64mb card so it ends up being about the same
BTW the same guy has 100 64mb MMC cards on a dutch - $39.95

Yeah, I thought about picking up the MMC card too. I'm thinking they'll be more readily available then the MiniJam will.
BTW...I've had a number of offers on the MiniJam, but I'm going to keep it. If my 760C ever dies I'll have an option for my MP3's.
Thanks though...never hurts to ask right?
Buyer Beware
$20.00 is a great deal if it works and continues to - there are no warrenties on EBay purchases and the ones recently sold were not authorized InnoGear MiniJams. So buyer beware, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is
No warranty's on Ebay purchases? What the!
Its got all the documentation, components, etc.
Mine is working fine...and I've no doubts it will continue to do so.
Don't think it was too good to be true. I'm sure they're not flying off the shelves anymore, so someone picking up some overstock is totally reasonable.
You will notice they are not selling them anymore -
I represent InnoGear and I will tell you they were not "extra inventory" we have not liquidated any product and the product what was being sold on eBay was NOT from us
Well, I'm assuming that b/c they only had 100 of them, and had 176 bids, that they just sold out...so no, I wouldn't expect them to be selling them.
I realize I'm coming off as attempting to defend them, but I really don't care, more like a mystery...beside worst case, I've blown $20.00.
Is it possible a distributor dumped them? Or are you more concerned that these didn't pass quality from the manufacturer, and that somewhere along the way sub-standard product is being sold? Possibly hurting the Innogear & MiniJam name?
Send me a private message, we can discuss off the board if you'd like.
We know they were not our authorized product.
I am sure you are fine since yours works
Well - since you are InnoGear Inside - can you give us a bit of an update on using the MiniJam as a storage device? I understand that something is in the works but I hope it won't turn into vapor due to "lack of interest" because beleive me - there is TONS of intereset... If you can't give definete answers - say as much - should I buy an MMC Memplug now or should I wait (within 2 months) for an update from InnoGear?
PS - I was just thinking - if the MiniJam can store files/programs - wouldn't it be great to be able to store movies (256mb limit now but I understand that will be going up?) and play them back WITH SOUND!?!?!?!?!? That's one feature the Memplug does NOT have...
Do to changes in the market, we are not able to finish the upgrade.
We are very sorry, it is just not possible
Open Source???
If it would cost too much money, then why not just release it as open-source? You would get the program for free. I'm sure that there is someone out there who is able to write such a program.
On the Innogear boards it still says it's coming...is it? Or did we get dumped?

email me at [email protected]
You should inform the guy who runs the innogear message board that you are not going to finish the product. Those people are still holding out for it.
Whoa the support area is gone.
No, the support page isn't gone -- yet. I went there after reading AIslayer's last post, and the page did load (after a few tries). All the fuss makes me wonder how long it will be there, though. And, will there be any more updates? Anyone out at Innogear listening? (Okay, I'll withdraw the question after going back and reading the thread again. Sorry!)
Thanks,
Doug
P. S. I just got one, & I love the little battery vampire!
Buy now?
Here is a question - with the Visor prism just being discontinued, and looking at the website it appears that they no longer sell the black minijam's, should I buy a minijam now, or do you think they will still be around in a month or two? I would prefer to wait, but I would hate to lose out because they get discontinued or something.
