-- Win2000 Palm Desktop Problem (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2623)
Under Win2K, the Palm desktop will only load under the admin user, the user I installed with. Any other user can not load the palm desktop software, an "Error: Invalid Configuration. Terminating Desktop" message window pops up. Is there a way for me to use the palm desktop as a non-admin? Hot-Sync seems to be working.
The palm desktop will has to be installed on the user that intends to use it. it has something to do with the registry settings. It is a problem with the orignal palm desktop. I have two users set up on my w2k, and I had to install it on both users. You can install it to the same directory, so it doesn't take up anymore disk space.
So I downloaded the new Windows 2000 USB drivers for my Handspring Visor Dlx and I un-install completely the old Palm desktop, dis-connect my serial cradle, plug in my USB cradle, reboot, install the new drivers and now I still cannot get the Visor to HotSync! When I press the button to HotSync Windows 2000 detects the device and prompts me for the drivers. I cannot find the INF driver file ANYWHERE in the distribution from Handspring (newest drivers) or in my INF folder. Any ideas? Tried dis-connecting and re-connecting my USB cradle to the two different USB ports, still no go.
Any ideas?
