Outlook '00 email retrieval

I am using Outlook 2000 as my email manager, mainly because I prefer the Calendar and Tasks part of it over the Palm Desktop. However I used to use the Palm Desktop and Outlook Express. OE was really cool because it actually retrieved email right off the server and put it onto my Visor. But Outlook doesn't do that, it will only transfer emails onto my Visor that have already been downloaded previously, it doesn't download new ones.

Has anyone else figured out a way around this problem?
