Question Case for Visor Prism

A question, to start a new thread:

What is the best case for the Visor Prism?

I have a Deluxe but am considering upgrading to a Prism, and
currently have the E&B Slipper VDX with zipper. Anyone know if this will fit a Prism also? I think I remember seeing that the Prism is slightly thicker, and E&B has a case specifically for the Prism also, but...I'd like to reuse the one I have, of course.

Anyway, I highly recommend the E&B cases in general - easy to use, nice quality, fits in pocket (usually) and the zipper feature is invaluable, esp. if you hotsync and change batteries a lot. Also, their flip-top design accomodates springboards that stick out a little (~3 mm., e.g. Matchbook drive CF adapter).

Other recommended cases (just from specs and other reviews - I don't have these myself):

- Vaja - http://www.vajacases.com/ - expensive but custom-built
- Rhodiana - http://www.rhodiana.com/ Custom-fit, slim, but fabric
- Rhino - http://www.rhinoskin.com/ - Probably the toughest, most durable, but bulkier

Can anyone comment on these cases, esp. for the Prism?

Honorable mention to ArmorBox from Otter Box:

For us folks who work in extreme environments and need the extra protecion for our Prisms, this is the box to get!

I like the nylon one I got from Franklin Covey, not really a Visor case, but it works for what I need.

Does it fit da prism?
Inquireing minds want to know.

Cool Expand your horizon

I am a big fan of the sport from marware. It's durable, over a year and many drops latter and it"s held up well.

I love my rhodiana (where did they ever come up with that name though?). Opens with one hand, decent protection, external stylus holder, and uses the same 'button' style belt clip as my cell phone. Love it. Love it.

I just bought a few pairs of Dockers Mobile Pants, and use my Prism with the standard snap-on cover. Not very trendy I know. Alas, I noticed the snap-on cover slowly peels away the paint in spots.

I love my Vaja Prism case! I have the style with magnet - not the snap. You can get to the prism quickly, it looks great and I bought the matching cell phone case too!

Santa brought me the EB Slipper case and it seems to do the trick nicely. The zipper is a bit awkward for hotsync/recharge purposes. The hole for the light (which I only need when charging!) moves when you unzip and put on the cradle, so I don't get the point of it.

Leather seems nice quality (smells good, too), and well-constructed seams where need to bend the case.

I saw in another thread where someone else used the VDX Slipper case on their Prism--the power button is on the other side, but they just pressed on top of the leather. They seemed to like it okay--I'll try to find thread.

The best case I have found for my Prism is the Sport case from Handsping for normal everyday use. It has never fallen off my belt like the clip types. The velcro lid makes getting and replacing easy and the case does a good job of protecting the unit. I can even use it with my Minijam.

I have both the EB Slipper and the Vaja for my Prism. I slightly prefer the Slipper over the Vaja - they are both good, but the Vaja never seems to fit the Prism just right. It's my second Vaja - I sent the first one back for the same type of reason, and when the second case had the same issues as the first I just kept it.

To answer one of the prior questions, the Heavy Armor case does not seem to come in a Prism version - too bad, since I'd think of buying one despite the high price.

VTL--Santa must've been paying attention to our earlier discussion, as he brought me the EB Slipper case. You were right, the leather isn't cheap at all, which was my main concern. It seems to be pretty well made and, given the difference in price, I am quite satisfied (for now....mwah ha haha)

Smile Results: Using E&B Deluxe case for Prism

Well, my wife surprised me with a Prism for Christmas, so I was able to try the E&B Slipper VDX (for thinner Deluxes) with zipper on the Prism:

- It fits fine, just a tiny bit snug (the leather stretches like a glove)
- I can barely see the charging lite when in the cradle, since there's no hole for it (maybe I'll try to poke one thru) - no big deal though.
- Power button is on the opposite side, now covered over, but can be used thru leather with some effort. I prefer to use EasyLaunch Hack to map other buttons/swipes to power on/off and warm reset
(e.g. swipe from apps to menu silk areas turns it off, holding ToDo for >3 secs does warm reset)
- Perhaps the most noticeable - the Prism display is off-center (a little to the left), so the VDX case obscures the upper left side of the display slightly (~1-2 mm). A careful snip-snip with the scissors helped to fix that somewhat (don't cut thru stitching, of course)
- Even with the bigger Visor, my MatchBookDrive with CF card still (sort-of) fit - the velcro still catches, though not perfectly lined up. Fortunately, I caught wind of the sale and got a flush FlashPlus (but missed out on the current trade-in deal!)

P.S. - I have a few business cards and a spare CF card in the pockets too...

I'm not sure how the non-zipper Deluxe E&B cases would work with the Prism - maybe OK, since I think there's less internal padding in the non-zipper versions.

Thanks everyone for feedback on various cases!
