Magellan GPS Prism or Pro
Just unwrapped my new Magellan GPS reciever and plugged it into my new Prism. I sit here and wait for it to find a stupid sattelite and wonder, which device would make the most use of the GPS reciever? The Prism or Pro?
I ask because I only have three more days on the "14-day, no questions asked, refund/exchange period" and debate swapping the Prism for the Pro.
My concerns, the battery life of the Prism, the viewability (if such a term exists) of the color screen in daylight, and the memory. I like the color screen but fear in bright sunlight I will be looking at nothing. I wish Handspring would offer a high-capacity battery replacement. And as far as the memory is concerned I bought a Memplug to help ease this burden.
But alas, I still wonder. Which is better?
Any suggestions?

Hey, think about this. You use the Prism with the GPS at night. You get a hack to flip the screen and then you stick it on your dashboard and you have an instant heads up display of your speed.
If you really need to use it during the day go and pick up a cheap deluxe somewhere. They are usually found about $99.

I have the Magellan, a Prism and a Deluxe - I use the Magellan with both Visors.
If I had to pick between the two, I'd say the Pro, for two reasons. The first and most important is the readability in daylight issue - as you probably know, the Prism is of marginal usefulness outside in sunlight. Of course, as one of the posts mentions, the Prism would rock as a in-car GPS at night.
Second, I usually use mine while tramping around in the woods, and I hesitate to take my Prism into possibly inclement weather - even though I use a waterproof case.
My Magellan works fine with my old Deluxe. I think the suggestion that you keep your Prism and find an old Deluxe cheap is a good one.
