Question

I'm about to buy a Prism, but fear a new "Prism X" (a la Palm) is just a ways down the pipe. If a newer, thinner, better, (etc...) Handspring unit is eminent (read: 3-4 months) then I'd rather wait. Anyone have any info/pictures?

Regards,
-Stimp.

Thumbs up

I did some research and of course everything is hush hush...but I think that I wouldn't see a major change to the Prism anytime soon...(2-3 months) Not until Palm OS 4 comes out later this year.

Go and buy that Prism...I did that today! Yipppy!!

PS..now that i have said this, Handspring will introduce their new color Visor on monday...

Wink

According to the rumor mill, Palm introduces the M505 and M500 on Monday the 19th. I wouldn't be surprised if Handspring announced a color version of the Edge a week or two later. They have always countered when Palm releases a new product. For example, M105 resulted in Handspring giving out a $50 rebate on Visor Deluxe. Also, the Edge was released first to compete with the Vx and M500. You may have also noticed that Handspring has bundled the backup module with every Prism purchase from their website. There getting ready for something.

I agree, and the edge is disclosed, but the twist and the snap remain. And the springboard sled is NOT the snap so...

Seeing that Hand regestered snap twist and edge around the same time, It appears to me that they either 1) at 3 products in midn.. and are staggering releases to indcrease hype/stock

2) They had 3 names picked out, and douldn't choose which one to go with at that time.
