Is it possible to HotSync via IR? Specifically, I have a home desktop with Win98 that I HotSync via the USB cradle. I also have a laptop from work running Win95, that doesn't have a USB port. I have a Serial cradle on backorder. The laptop has an IR port, so I thought I would ask if anyone has information about how to HotSync via IR. Any suggestions, thoughts or documentation would be welcomed.

There is an application out there called IRSync that facilitates this type of sychronization. Before I sold my Palm III, I used it to sync on the road with no problems. Definitely slower, but it did work.

I am still awaiting my Visor, so I can't speak for its functionality on the new device. If anyone out there has any experience with IRSync on a Visor, please drop a note.

Just checked the IRSync site. No Visor support yet. Looks like they are still waiting for their Visor as well!

It looks like the folks at ISComplete (makers of IR Link) just received their Visor yesterday. According to their site, they are soliciting volunteers for the beta test when the Visor version is ready. If anyone is interested, follow this link:

Just an FYI...I was able to get the beta IRLink from ISComplete and it does the job.

Are you using a Mac or Windowns machine? I assume Windows. I have having a heck of a time even with the IR Link beta (thanks IS Complete for the sw!) on the mac (PB G3 WallStreet IR port). I am going back and forth with Handspring Mac SW and Palm 2.5 for the Mac to see if I can get it.I will keep banging away and see if I can get it and post for the mac heads...
