System synchronization failed

Win98+VDX+Flash Module
My computer crashed two days ago. I re-installed OS and all software including palm desktop. After that I synced my VDX and everything seemed OK. However when I checked Hotsync Log I found system synchronization failed.
My Hotsync Log
***********
OK Data Book
...
...
...
OK Mobile Application Link
System synchronization failed
***********

I synced several times and the log was same. How can I fix it.

Try syncing without the module. I noticed the same problem when syncing with certain modules in. Mine was the ThinModem. It must have something to do with the FlashMemory.

I know that I read a thread somewhere (I cannot find it) that discussed this. I think the reason for this error message is that the Palm OS, even with HS's modifications, does not completely support SpringBoard modules. You are correct that if you remove the module the error goes away (I had noticed the same message after I got my first module). Another option is to use BackupBuddy which will also correct the error.

Yes, it is the Flash Module. After I remove it everything is OK.
Thanks.

So Do I have to remove the module every time I sync my VDX? Every time I remove the module, my VDX will have a soft reset that bothers me.

interesting. my wife's visor was also syncing with no problems to outlook for a long time. then all of a sudden, her datebook sync failed. address book, to do, memo, etc.syncs fine, but date book fails. i wonder if it's her back-up module causing this all of a sudden.

any other idea why?

Check the PocketMirror conduit settings.

That is why I started using BackupBuddy originally, so I would not have to remove my modules. Since then, however, BackupBuddy has saved my butt a number of times, usually when I do something stupid!
