Hi,

This year I got my Christmas wish and picked up an Ice Visor deluxe in HongKong...woohoo, oh what a joyous moment!....atleast until I got home and tried to hotsync! Actually, I haven't actually hotsynced yet, for my computer just freezes.

I have an Imac Rev. A running mac os8.1 ---->> I know I should upgrade to 9.0 but, hey, this should be possible!

I have installed the software that came on the cd.....it freezes and crashes as soon as I push that magic little sync button on the cradle. I have done soft resets, I have reinstalled the software several times, zapped the pram, rebuilt the desktop, turned off extensions..... I have also called the handspring tech support line (which sucks because im up in canada, but I digress) the tech told me to get Palm Desktop 2.1....I did, installed it, and bam! same problem...screen freezes, bomb with a "system error 10" shows up. The second tech guy from handspring told me that error has to do with the fpu or something. Well, they really didn't help me out too much, but they agreed that there is some kind of software issue, rather than a hardware one.

Regardless....Im sure someone out there has gotten a visor deluxe to work with MacOS 8.1 on an imac with USB! I know you are out there! PLease, please tell me your secret!
If all else fails I guess I will spend the $80 to get OS9, but I would really appreciate any ideas and insight on how to tackle this problem ;-)

You need Palm/Visor Desktop 2.6.1

its on the handspring site for a free download after entering your serial number.
That will fix all the problems you are having.

The reason nobody replied to your post perhaps is that it has been answered in other posts (about desktop 2.6.1) - try the search function of the forum from time to time :-)
