Well, first, you should know that Visor Deluxes don't have native support for IR syncing. There's some 3rd party software you have to get. That's all I know.

I could understand with a laptop, perhaps, but it's quicker, easier, and less drain on the batteries using the cradle.__________________

Im quite aware of beamsync, and i wan to be able to keep my cradle at the office, instead of at home, i figure the card will be cheaper than a new cradle.
thanks

Apparantly there's USB and serial
that cost $89 and $69, respectively, (here ).
You can get a new VDX cradle from Handspring for $29.99 - looks like that's the cheapest way to go. Even cheaper, buy a cradle on eBay.

The USB or serial options tend to be even more than that. Maybe a second cradle would be the way to go, unless you've got more than just a visor that you'd want to use.

The cheepest way to get an IR port is to get a IR cable from the mother board manufacture, if your board has IR built in (Most new boards do)

You can also just buy a Hotsync cable instead of a Cradle. Belkin has one for $19.95. They work just fine, and are less bulky than the Cradle.

I hotsync using my Ir port. It's slower, does drain batteries, but if you want to. Use Beamsync.
Here is how to do it: http://support.handspring.com/esupp...&ResType=il
Good luck
