I'm sorry, can't help it but, I just received the FlipCover from... well, flipcover.com and WHOH! this thing is EXACTLY what Handspring should have included with its Visors. This thing is AWESOME!! Closed, the unit is as perfectly integrated as the original cover. But, the hinge is what these units have been BEGGING for: No more fumbling with the lid!! It just swings back and outta the way. Next to a Palm III side-grip lid, the Visor is perfectly thin and svelt, where the Palm looks more wide and ungainly.
So, I got rid the rig I had; the new FlipCover is truely a great product.

Flipcover vs. Flip-clip vs. Handspring lid

I received my Prism Flipcover about a week ago. As a former PalmIII user, the Flipcover is exactly what the doctor ordered. When I first received my Prism, I was thoroughly disappointed with the snap-on cover they include with every unit. You would think a company like Handspring could have come up with something better than that piece of junk. I then went back and forth between ordering the Flip-Clip (Tactilis) and the Flipcover. I bought the Flip-Clip because the Flipcover wasn't out for the Prism at that time. It worked, but the PalmIII was flimsy and didn't fit too well. I purchased the Prism Flipcover when it came out. WHOA!! Fits like a glove. Hands down, this is one of the best designed accessories I have ever seen. With the Ice cover, you can almost make out alarms as they come up, which is an added bonus. I think it's probably the best $13 (or so) bucks I have spent on a handheld accessory.

I agree, the FlipCover from FlipCover.com is great. It's exactly what I needed. The quality and fit is superb. I'm going to get the ice one in addition to the black one I have.

Unfortunately, I had bought the flip-clip from Tactilis too. I've edited my original note -- I'm implementing some self censorship. The last time that I was negative like this about a product, that supplier threatened to sue me... The flip-clip is gathering dust in my closet.

I agree, everyone should have a flip cover!

I agree. I received my flipcover about a month ago, and it is indeed the best addition to the Visor. This is what Handspring should have done in the first place. I guess they kind of did this with the Visor Edge, a flipcover type of cover. I also thought about the cover attachment from tactillis, but I am glad that I waited for the flipcover.
I would recommend it to anyone that has a Visor Deluxe.

I looked at their website, and maybe someone can confirm this for me. This cover seems to work by taking up the springboard slot, so you can't use the flipcover if you have a module in the slot?

True, the flip cover assembly does have to be removed to insert another module -- and, at first, that was an inconvenience I thought I could not live with -- but, you know, it turns out it's not a bid deal for me at the moment. I mean, I slip a backup mod in there, let it do its thing, return the backup mod to its safe place, return the cover and get about my way. And, MAN! the fit and finish! Handspring: you shouldda done this a LONG time ago! This thing looks GREAT when the cover is secured. Wow. Good accessory!

Although I haven't yet bought a memory module( memplug, matchbook,etc.), I assume that it stays in the SB slot when no other SB module is in use. Anyone figured out a mod to use the FlipCover in such a mode?

I brought the flipclip, and patiently waited for
them to start producing the visor specific lid.
Well i got tired of waiting, and brought the flipcover,
and to SB adapters. The only problem i had with
the adapter was the glue isnt really strong enough.
Since I always have a 8M module in my visor, i
decided to drill two holes into the module and
screw the adapter to it. No more adapter getting
unglued! I am using the clear lid with my prism, which
is great for seeing the alarms without poping my cover
open.

The Ice cover is actually clear enough to read through,
at least with the prism. The screws i used are very small.
With the glue+screw combo, i can actually pull on the
flipcover to remove the module.

alternative flipcover adapter use

i used the adhesive adapter directly on my prism. if you turn the adapter around, so the hinge side is flush with the springboard slot of the prism, then use a regular hinge (instead of the prism hinge), all you have to do is bevel the front of the adapter a little and it works great(acually it works if you don't bevel it, but not as well. it puts too much angular pressure on the adhesive strip). if you use any oversize modules, this could present a problem, but i don't.

i think they are coming out with some kind of universal adapter that will work with modules, including oversize. i don't think most people want to stick things directly to their prisms, so it probably won't catch on, but it does work.
