Does anyone know what stores are carrying the platinum right now ?

I saw one in CompUsa yesterday.

The Platinum will not be in retail stores until November 16. If you want to buy one online the only place selling them is Handspring and Amazon (that I know of).

I was in San Jose, CA, this week on business and saw the Platinum was for sale in Fry's. I think it's the Prism that will not be for sale in "brick & mortar" stores until the 16th.

Purchased my Platinum about 2 weeks ago at a Fry's Electronics store (in Anaheim, California). There wasn't one out in display, but there were plenty of boxes on their shelves (I just picked one out, walked to the register, and purchased it - just as if I was in a grocery doing my shopping. And they had a lot of boxes on the shelves too!).

I was in Comp USA in Chicago on Sat. and they had them on display and in stock. Said they got them in two days earlier.

Someone posted elsewhere they can be had at Best Buy stores now, too.

My local CompUSA (Concord, CA) Has the Demo Units but none in stock. They also had a sounds good module (not in stock) I-module (in stock) Xircom modem (in stock) and the other Handspring stuff. The simulated picture on the Prism looked like crap IMHO. It's got to be better that that. The ipac was next to it and that�s a nice display. I started saving for the Prism, but now I�m not sure. Guess I need to see one first hand before I decide.

Yeah, I bet HS is going all out to make sure the Prisms that hit the retail chains are the best they can be. Hate to admit it, but maybe the "Web-site-only-first" deal was just to pull in the techie / power users to do a final beta. Looks like Graffiti was the main snag.
But I bet like the iPaqs, after a short time it won't be so easy to get a Prism. Face it, most people who bought them by now essentially got them "sight unseen." To see a killer beauty in your hand, though, is hard to resist. (PDAs I'm talking about here, I swear!)
