-- Innopak/2V - problem with spontaneous alarms (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10022)
Hi everyone:
I'm having a problem with my brand new Innopak/2V. I keep getting spontaneous vibrating alarms every two to three minutes or so. When the alarm occurs, the only way for me to shut it off is to run "IP Test" and hit the OFF button.
I've tried a bunch of things: soft resets, reinserting the card, running the 1.01 updater from the Innogear, to no avail. I am not running any hacks.
I'm not able to figure out why these spontaneous alarms are occurring. Has anyone run into this problem or know what might be happening here? Do I just have a defective module?
Thanks,
minotaur
Sounds like a hardware problem.
On two occations I have had my InnoPak/2V start to vibrate when I inserted the module into the Visor. I could only stop it by using the IPTest program. Since this has only happened twice, and I've had the module for over six months, and I swap it in and out at about four times a week, I'm guessing that it was a simple glitch upon inserting the card.
But you problem sounds different. Is the module firmly seated in the Springboard slot? Does "flexing" or "squeezing" the Visor and InnoPak/2V cause the vibrator to start? Does the "InnoPak" logo pop up on the screen when the bogus vibrate starts? If so, it could be a loose connection or a cracked trace either in the Visor or InnoPak.
Hope this helps.
