I did some modifications to this case and now it looks good and is more functional.

I cut away the plastic frame on the left side that partially blocked the power button.

Cut a hole for the Ir port. It actually cuts very easy and used some "Fray No More" available at craft stores for the edges of the cut material. This may not be needed but I put some on just in case. Now no chance of fraying.

I noticed the velcro for the cover was coming loose (they still are using cheap glue). I used "Goop Glue" available at craft stores. This stuff works really good. It bonds stronger than regular glue and is flexible unlike "super glue".

I wanted a slightly more snug fit in the case so I glued some foam on the internal right edge (a thin piece about 1/4"). It is still easy to remove but very snug as well.

Along with the PDAPanache stylus installed in the visor stylus holder (don't use the one on the side of the case) this case is now really good.

Working on aircraft, I can be confident that if I'm say 15 ft. off the ground and my visor falls and even hits every rung on the ladder, my visor will still work fine.

Now for a favor, I'm looking at getting a deluxe case from handspring for when I travel. If anyone has a deluxe case and a digital camera, if they could take a few photos of it. The handspring website photos are not good enough. I do not want to spend that kind of money on a case without being sure that it will fit my needs. I already had to modify one case. Many kudos my friend.

I was just coming to ask if anyone had tried this case when your post came up. It has alot of great reviews, and this price is right. I was wondering how easy it is to remove the Visor from the top while it is on your belt. And the case looks a little boxy and rigid in pictures, how do you find it to be in person?

I would only recomend this case to people who want above average protection. It is not hard to remove visor from case and even easier to remove from belt clip. However I think for most people just a regular case is sufficient. The case will make carrying around your visor just a little more bulky than the supplied case. It is about 1/3" bigger with length, width and depth because of the foam protection.

If you need really good protection, I would consider this case, but because of workmanship, necessary modifications, and a little extra bulkiness, if you do not need above average protection, look elsewhere.

I consider ordinary protection a fall of up to 5 feet.

had a silver shocksuit, hated it, sent it back. rhinoskin told me 'the visor will not fit the old titanium cockpit case' and i ordered it anyway. what do you know, it fits perfectly. i love this case!
