Well, I'm still ticked that Staples USA will be carrying Handspring products, but Staples Canada most likely will not. I've had my Visor for five months and love it, but I'm glad I bought the styli with it or else I'd be screwed. I want a case from Handspring, but I can't buy one. I want the modem, but can't buy it. I'd like the backup module, but I can't buy it.

With all the talk about inroads into Europe and Asia, I'm getting that much more frustrated. I sent an e-mail to the Handspring contact in the press release today to see what the official word is on Canadian support.

The Staples in Fredericksburg, VA has them, but they aren't out on display yet. I had to go to a second "red shirt" to get someone who knew what they were. Of course when he made the statement that he "thought of the Visor as just another Palm Pilot" I had to correct him!!! He then tried to impress me with his knowledge of Palm history which included the little known "fact" that Palm was making the Visor!!! I corrected that little fact for him also! Oh well, we don't call the town "fRednecksburg" for nothing.

They have the Graphite, Blue and Ice Deluxes as well as the serial cradles and backup modules. No idea when they would get the modems, usb cables or such.

Have Visor Will Travel!

As a Staples employee, I apologise for any problem that Staples is giving you in getting your Visor's and accessories. All the Staples employee's in the related area should have watched the training this past Wednesday and should know something about Handspring and the Visor's. Also, all Staples stores were instructed to display the Visor Deluxe as soon as it arived.

If anyone has a problem looking at one or getting one at their local Staples, I would suggest asking for a manager and finding out why. Not all the sales assocciates know what they are talking about, actually, most don't, but the manager's are familiar with the store policies and all the paperwork from the higher-ups, so they will know something about the Handspring products.

Staples in needham mass has them but not on display yet. theyre still in the back and say it will be about two weeks before we can see them on the shelves, 2mb and 8mb ice blue and black!! they also have the extra 8 megabytes.

Alright! Im back and happy to say that I have sold 6 visors in the last 48 hours!

Come on guys I love my almost 4 month old visor, what would you people out there say are THE Palm Killer Sales techniques? For the people that say, "uh.. <insert whine> but its not a Palm Pilot <insert whine>, I wanna palm pilot cuz my co-worker has one."

I wonder if Handspring is going to take care of staples, compusa, and best buy employees that move the rock and sell them? Most companies hook up employees with discounts, free stuff... and boy there is nothing wrong with free stuff!

Does anyone know if Staples will carry or plan on carrying the Handspring leather cases? I would like to get the Matching color case, but don't want to spend $8.50 on shipping/handling.

Last night I went to the Staples in Mountain View, CA (arguably the closest to HS's headquarters). They had no display, just two graphite Visors locked in the glass case next to the palms. No springboards either. It was pretty sad...

I went by Staples (Richmond, VA) tonight to get some hanging folders, and I saw they had a slim leather case in the display case.

While I was there, there was a guy who was looking at the Visor. I talked to him about it and explained the differences. But, he went for a Palm IIIxe...he had a Palm III before (it was stolen)...oh well
