Is there any reason not to keep a Backup module in a Visor all the time? Will it use up my battery power?

I don't want to have to carry it around in my pocket while the Springboard slot is holding the plastic cover thing.

They're discussing this in the accessories forum. the biggest reason against it is what if you lost the visor!?! then you'd lose all your data with it!

I don't think there's any mechanical reason not to do it, but there sure are some practical ones.

My visor is more valuable then the info on it....I have it sync'ing in 2 locations.

I would use the backup module when the visor crashes and loses it's data...I've had it happen twice so far.

I think it drains the battery faster with it in.

This depends on how you use your equipment. It's a valid concern. But on a regular basis, I sync constantly. The backup module then is just a fail safe which lets me restore a little faster if I have to do a hard reset. You know, sync-ing from a hard reset restores almost everything, but sometimes you have to add back a 3d party app or two. Saves some time and gives one level of redundancy--but on a normal basis it's redundant. So it is much better then to keep the module in the Visor so as to promote regular backups. This is my most common but admittedly minor use of the module.
If I'm traveling and cannot sync to my desktop regularly, then it's a different story, and yes I'd store the module separately from the unit to be safe.
