-- Possible Springboard Module? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5189)
Does anyone know if it would be possible to make a Module that allows you to use an AC Adaptor for the Visor?
Why would you want one?
I've seen simular questions before and I don't get it...
With normal usage you'll last months with your batteries. What are you doing that requires an adaptor??
Batteries are expensive!! I'm a high school student with NO job!! I would rather pay $15-$20 now, then to have to pay tons on batteries.
Use Nickel Metal Hydride batteries - they are relatively cheap and last almost as long as alkalines. You can recharge them over 500 times.

Tan Kit,
You took the words right out of my mouth...
mmm, Tan Kit, ToolkiT, I see a coincidense ;-)
Ha ha ha, ToolKit - but Tan is my family name - my personal name is Kit Hoong.
I've been using NiMH batteries for some time now and have found them to be just great - lasts between 1 and 2 weeks only though - but that's why I have two pairs
I will second (though on this board it would be more like 100) the opinion.
I had 2 pairs of NiMH batteries and they're great. Not as long lasting as Alkaline, but much more convenient and economical. I bought 4 AAA for about 14 bucks with shipping and when my girlfriend got a Palm IIIx I bought 4 more for her so now we each have one set for in our Visor/Palm and one that will be charged. Total cost of 8 batteries and a charger was about 38 with shipping.. It sounds like a lot, but when I think that I won't need to buy another AAA battery for another couple/few years, it's not that much at all.
Well, rather than an AC adapter, what about a supplemental battery? I have often wondered why Palms couldn't use cell phones batteries, and we could get a good NiMH or even Li+ (apologies to any REAL chemists out there). It always seemed to me with the amount of power a Palm draws, a cell phone battery would last forever. What about a Springboard based on that?
OK, honestly, I wouldn't buy it myself, simply because I don't want to tie up my Springboard slot, but it appears that some people have interest.
