Favorite Form Factor

What is your favorite PDA form-factor? I am rather fond of the size, shape and weight of my VDX. I am not sure that I want something thinner, lighter or (certainly not) smaller.

I like the curves of the Palm M-series, but wouldn't want to sacrifice screen real estate. The Clio strikes me as a bit too slick feeling, as does the Jornada. The iPaq is too big for my tastes, even with the added capabilities.

Based on shape, not performance, which is your favorite?

You've got a few mistakes there Keefer. First off, it's Clie...not Clio. And second, the Palm M series is too broad. That includes the M10x and M50x series. I'm assuming you are referring to the M500 series?

If dimensions are the only criteria, then the Edge wins for me. Everything is a compromise, though.

Maybe it's the Ms. Clio. mis-spelling intentional.

I actually think my Visor is too small for my hands. I got a Bumper case (by bridge design, marketed by Fellowes) for the drop protection and by sheer coincidence it makes it feel more comfortably bulky. You can pretty much bet I won't be getting an Edge or other superslim PDA anytime soon.

I love the form factor of the Visor Prism, the normal visor casing was plastic and felt cheap and the edge is nice but i'd snap it in half by accident. The prism is metal and strong, and the back is pretty sweet.

I voted for the EDGE cause its so thin..i wouldnt mind if it was wider.....it fits so nice in my pocket

Is that an EDGE with the springboard attachment on in your pocket or you happy to see me?

I am not sure what Prism you are using, but all three of mine were painted plastic. Did you get a special case for yours?

Love the Edge form factor, if it had a hi-rez colour screen and virtual graffiti, it would be perfect. Thin is good, and it's just wide and long enough to fit into pockets easily while being large enough to not have a small screen.

Now if only its IR port was a bit stronger, and it had built in bluetooth and 16mbs.

Arrow Regular Visor

The regular Visor form factor is the best for expansion! Have you guys seen the Sonystick GPS? OMG. I would be a fraid of breaking of that thing.

Hmmm. I really do like the aesthetic look of the Palm 500 and 505. But if I had to pick from among the Visors, it would definitely be the regular Visor form. That's one of the main reasons I got one. But if I were to buy a new one - color - it would probably be the M505.

I personally love teh sony clie 760 form factor! it is stylish, elegant, but still has that profesional look. It has just enough room to fit many components in it, and maybe in the future when smaller electronics are made, they could make the insides even better!
The edge looks to square for me, and flimsy. Plus, there isnt much room for improvement on the insides.

Yes the Sony Clie form factoer is stylish. BUT the expansion options that are coming out for it is hideous! I thought the Geode was bad until i saw Sony's GPS contraption on Palminfocenter.

I dont believe someone could call that gps ugly. The geode is awfull, but the one for the clie just flips open.
