Thumbs up

http://www.eyemodule.com/downloads/d_other.htm

This is SOOOO cool! The image on the screen is in greyscale when actually taking pictures, but once you've taken the picture, you can view it in COLOR (assuming you took a color picture, of course!). Unfortunately, when you zoom in on an image, it's not in color.

Another cool thing I just discovered is that the Handspring Photo Album will show photos from the Eyemodule database.

EyeModule update

Would you please e-mail it to me, if it's not too much trouble?

I tried to get it from their Web site, but it's been pulled because there have been problems with some users.

I won't hold you responsible for any problems I might have; I back up enough for that not to be a problem.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Well, it'd be MUCH COOLER if the new E.M. software let you CHOOSE whether or not to preview in b&w or color.
HALF THE PROBLEM w/E.M. is you often CAN'T REALLY TELL WHAT YOU'RE SHOOTING.
Maybe since they pulled the patch, they'll add this, too. (Well, I can hope, can't I?)
Or maybe since this post they'll get to work on it.
They sure don't seem hell-bent to improve / upgrade their product(s) on a robust sched., do they?

Lock-up With Eyemodule and Prism

One word of warning with an experience I had. The new eyemodule works and have been using it. However, one time I pulled out the module while it was displaying the eyemodule start up screen. The prism locked up with an all white scree. I was unable to power off the prism. I performed a "soft" reset and the unit then booted up but ALL of my 3rd party application and ALL data was gone. It restored as if a HARD reset was performed. A re-sync with desktop overwriting the handheld resored my data.

Arrow No need

FYI:

There is no need to set to set the desktop to overwrite handheld after a hard reset. Your data will be transferred if the conduits are set to "synchronize the files"

Blocks Products don't seem to have released a new Eyemodule patch and I was getting impatient to try my Eyemodule on the Prism. I found the v3.5 patch at http://www.eyemodule.com/downloads/eyepatch.zip and downloaded that. It installed without problems and seems to work just fine. Use at your own risk...

I figure I'll try out all these Eyemodule patches, CF adapters, etc. while I'm waiting for my new Prism to arrive. I called Handspring about my grafitti problem 10 days ago and I'm still waiting for my replacement...
