problems with hotsync

i recently moved my computer and disconnected all the cables.
today i tried to hotsync and i get a message that reads
the connection between your handheld computer
and the desktop could not be established...blah blah blah.

what gives?
it says to check my settings.
how do i do this?

please help so that i can hotsync soon.

1) Try a different USB port.

2) Make sure the HotSync settings are correct in the HotSync Manager.

3) Try re-installing the desktop software.
