-- Visor is eating batteries! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10424)

For about the past two weeks, my Visor has been eating batteries! My batteries used to last 1-2 months. Now they last about 2 days!

I've already lost the memory once due to extraordinary battery drain and just 2 days ago it would turn itself off immediately because of low batteries. I put new batteries in and the next day (yesterday) they were down to half!

I'm not using it that much at all -- no more than I usually do. Is there some common fault in Visors that can cause this? Any ideas?

BTW, these AAAs are getting expensive. I ordered a FullCharge for Christmas more thana month ago and it has yet to arrive!

Exclamation Any new apps or Modules?

Have you installed any new applications or Springboard modules? What brand of batteries are you using?

Batteries in my VDx last about a month, and that's with heavy use.

Arrow

I has similar problems, but it's because I used the Rayovac recharable alkaline batteries.

Fresh batteries last the longest, but after several recharges the charge holds less. I was at the point I was switching batteries everyday.

However, I was able to go 3-4 months with just 2 pairs of the batteries.

Right now I'm using regular Duracell, and the charge will last about 1 month. The only module I use periodically is the Backup. I rarely use the backlight.

Maybe you're using cheap batteries. Try a fresh highend Duracell or Energizer and see what results you get. If you're still completely draining after 2 days...your Visor may be defective.

I had a similar problem when I got a Memory Access flash memory/vibrating alarm module. On two occasions, I found the battery drained to the point of wiping out all my data. In both cases, it happened overnight. Normally, if your batteries are too low to power the Visor, you still have a couple of weeks to replace them; but in this case they were sucked dry.

Needless to say, I stopped using the MA. I assume that it was firing off the vibrating alarm motor at intervals I couldn't track down.

Exclamation Eyemodule is a vampire too...

I take my Springboards out every night, ever since I found that my eyemodule sucked the battery dry. About the only one I leave in is the 8MB Memory module...
