Soundsgood getting sketchy.

So my Soundsgood module is starting to crap out on the right channel--I have to twist and fiddle with the headphone jack to get full stereo sound. It's definitely the module, not my earbuds. So now the questions are:

1) Is there any hope for tech support from either PalmGear or Good tech?
2) Should I just use it until it die?
3) Should I make the ballsy (read: stupid) move of taking it apart and seeing if I can fix it myself?

I'll admid to being at a loss as to why this is happening. Usually, when the connection is bad & is affecting sound it's the fault of the headphones. Maybe the three different headphones I've plugged into it are all crap? I dunno... I'm pissed.

this is a common problem in all walkman-type players, especially if you are not using L-type headphone plugs. if you can get full stereo sound by wiggling the headphones around, then it's probably a simple fix (though i wouldn't attempt it yourself).

try contacting palmgear, but i doubt that useless company will be of any use. after you hear nay from them, i'd approach a regular stereo fix it type shop and show them the module. they'll probably say "forget it" it at first. but i think if you just show them that it's the headphone jack wiggly problem (that's the technical term) then they might be able to fix it.

once fixed, if you're not already using L-shaped headphone jacks then you should start.

I had the same problem back when Good was good. They replaced the unit quickly and told me to keep my old one. So I don't use that one very much but have it loaded for long trips so I can mix up the music a bit. I've been thinking of getting a little balzy and trying to do a bit of repairwork too. Especially since I bought that one before the price drop. You can try PalmGear but I doubt they'll be too much assistance (because of a repair I was trying to have done to my wife's SoundsGood module).
