I've had my Visor Deluxe for about 4 months now, and this is the first time I've had trouble with it.

When I place it in the cradle to sync, and press the cradle's button, the Visor does weird things. Sometimes it comes on, but freezes up at whatever screen I was last on. Sometimes, it soft resets itself and I see the "Palm Computing" splash screen. Sometimes, I get a "Fatal Error" dialog box and have to manually soft reset.

This happens with my USB cradle on my home Win98 machine, and also with my serial cradle on my office Win2000 machine.

Here's the weird part: if I put the Visor in the cradle, navigate to the HotSync application on the Visor, and tap Local Sync, it works perfectly with no errors.

Anybody seen this one before? I don't know if this is something a hard reset would fix, or if I should contact Handspring for a replacement. Any advice would be appreciated.
