I think most of Innogear's problems stemmed from giving any sort of time frame for their flagship products rather than simply saying "to be announced."
Those of you who "give them credit" obviously have a memory problem. IF the 6-pack releases in October, it will be ONE YEAR LATE!

The SixPak was announced in October for a Q1 2000 release. Yes they're behind schedule, but it's melodramatic to claim they're a year late.
yeah .. lets wait until it gets pushed back until Q1 2001 and then complain some more ..

Isn't it interesting that all of you folks seem to think it's ok that Innogear continues to promise but not deliver. I took a look at their site this morning (September 12, 2000) and the newest dated item I can find is concerning MAC World. that post was made on December 15, 1999. So it's been 9 months since Innogear made a newsworthy item that they are willing to post on their site.
Of course, there are other newsworthy items but they all look BAD for Innogear. Wonder why they don't post the stories of people bashing them for failure to deliver?
I said it before, I say it again....
Innogear just plain sucks. Their marketing sucks, their development sucks, their public affairs suck, their management sucks. They just plain suck. One year later and still no real modules from them. I hope they go bankrupt. they deserve it.

Well, I had ordered a MiniJam, because as a journalist, the speech recording would have been really really useful. Add the stowaway keyboard, and I'd have had a great setup for taking notes at press conferences or recording one-to-ones.
And where did I find out the recording was dropped? A comment in a message on VisorCentral. It would have been good to have seen some mention of that on the InnoGear site, but no chance.
The PDF file you can download still talks about voice recording, but it has been quietly removed from the text on the actual web pages. But once something's been announced, and people have placed orders, should we really have to check back to see if they've updated a web page to remove the feature we really wanted?
The SixPack allegedly does voice recording too - and the person I spoke to when I cancelled my MiniJam order said it was a feature. But once again, though the PDF specs say it will, the text on the web page has been edited to remove any mention of the feature.
Yes, I know there are other modules like Word Access, but sixteen minutes just isn't enough. A typical interview for an article will be between 30 and 60 minutes, sometimes more.
To have that facility on the Visor, and almost as a bonus an MP3 player, would have been great.
In dropping it so quietly, I for one feel that I've been rather misled by InnoGear.

Innogear has delivered--not as promised--but they have delivered. They said they would START shipping on Aug 31, they did. They didn't promise to have every module for everyone who ordered at their doorstep on Aug 31.
I've never seen or heard of any stories bashing Innogear for their "failure" to deliver. Innogear, like many other companies, continue to endure parts shortages, development delays, etc., or whatever the reason may be. slacker, please provide me with some negative articles about Innogear's "failure to deliver."
slacker:
If Innogear can deliver the SixPak in October, will you be buying one? Aside from the fact that it's already late? Or have you boycotted them all together and will never buy any of their products?
No swendor, I just love to bash companies for not delivering. I have nothing better to do than to read message boards and complain.
Now, a bit of reality. I bought the visor BECAUSE of the 6-pack. Of course I will buy it, provided I haven't bought a color Palm XXXIVx. I know there is no such thing, but by the time innogear acutally delivers the 6-pack I am sure Palm will be selling it.
Do I have an article about Innogear's failure to deliver? No. Would I write one? SURE! It would be short though...
"Innogear has stated in numerous posts and emails that equipment shortages have prevented them from delivering on their products, most notably their flagship 6-pack and Minijam. Despite announcing their products in October of 1999, Innogear has failed to meet any release dates. They continue to quietly drop features from products and offer excuses for delays. Many Visor customers are upset with the lack of information from Innogear and their lack of interest in the needs of their customers."
I own my own business. I support customers daily. I deliver what I say when I say I will. If I can't deliver, I keep my mouth shut. Sound like something Innogear should do? I think so.
A hostile customer is still a customer

Well, let's split the difference - if someone else came out w/a SixPack, I bet InnoGear would get no SixPack biz.
Actually, just a land line / cell modem, memory and voice recorder module would fit my needs.
