-- Is the blue really baby/aqua/light blue? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=438)
I saw one photo and it was way different from the Handspring publicity shot.
It really looks similar to the other "college kid colors", not the semi-professional color large numbers of execs were banking on to stand out from the crowd without looking juvenile. Luckily I was able to change my order to graphite.
I sent this to Handspring:
If you add another color to the mix please make it that same darker/cobalt blue photo *without* the ice colored backing (another unpleasant surprise) and market it along with the graphite to the baby-boomers. Meanwhile if you want to save us and yourself trouble just change the unrealistic blue publicity shots to reflect reality.
Well, all the people at work that I've shown my blue Visor to think it looks quite nice, and the once that have said they'd like to get one have said they want to get a blue one, too. That includes our VP Operations and Controller and most of our salespeople. (Two salespeople already have Palms, and one has a Casio E-100.) However, because of the way the ordering situation is right now I've recommended they wait a little while before they buy one.
I love mine. It is a paler blue than on the web site, kind of a subdued cornflower blue. It's going to go perfectly with iBook I'm looking to buy...

Got this reply tonight from Handspring:
We certainly did not intentionally mean to mislead people about the color of products. This is also the first I have heard about a color mismatch. I will look into it to see if there is something we can do better. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

And I got this this after he forwarded the message to his marketing guy:
Thanks! We'll take a look at it with our graphic designers.

These guys are all trying hard (working late Friday night) and my credit card is waiting for a "killer cobalt." I also think solid translucent black would be a hit since it would match the springboards.
Handspring has just updated the promo shot of the blue visor to reflect reality.

I've got my blue VDx in hand and I don't think it looks bad at all. It's slightly lighter wherever the screen is behind the plastic, but I assume that is the case for ALL colors.
