-- Survey: How do you carry the Visor? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=3882)

How do you carry your Handspring Visor? Just use the included hard cover/soft pouch? Use one of the Handspring cases or belt clips? Just toss it unprotected in a handbag? Let's see what method you use, including the manufacturer and model if you use a certain case or pack.

Personally, I use Handspring's Slim Leather case right now, but I'm looking for a new one.

Unless I'm using it or carrying it less than a few feet, my VDX always has the hard cover clipped-on over the screen, and it's all inside the included soft case.

p.s. I've never had problems with cracking due to the hard cover.

Wink

In it's little EB Slipper, closed, usually in a shirt pocket.

If no shirt pocket available, in my hand.

Occasionally (RARELY) in a back pants pocket

Cool

Mine goes everywhere clipped to my belt in a Rhodiana belt clip case (http://www.rhodiana.com). I replaced Rhodiana's lexan stiffener (for the flap that covers the front of the Visor) with one that I made out of brass sheet and now I think I'd be hard pressed to find a case that offers the same balance of protection and useability.

(And the ballistic nylon looks *way* cool too!)

Cool

Mine is snug inside a Rhodiana case, which is tucked under my arm in a Landware BurroPak.

A Rhodiana on my belt is just a little too vulnerable to being bumped or crushed.

Even if the BurroPak makes me look like I'm packing heat.

My Visor was in my Rhinoskin Shocksuit, but the little belt clip nub broke off, so I made the Deleuxe Leather Slip Case into a belt clip case with a stick on nub. Not sure how long it will hold, but I ordered a E&B Slipper with clip........only because my wife wouldn't clear the Vaja......

I am also using a Rhinoskin Shocksuit and have been using it since March. I did have to use some of the Goop to keep the velcro strip on the cover and I did lose a PDAPanache deluxe stylus that was clipped into the outside stylus holder, but other than that have been pleased at the protection it provides. I use the leather slipper case and hard cover to protect my Springboard modules.

E & B Slipper case with belt clip. I wish they could have made it so you can get it off the clip with one hand, I find I have to use both.

Because I'm lazy, I carry it in my pocket -- no cover, no case. I have a really cool coat I picked up at Target for $20 that's sort of a cross between an overcoat and an army fatigue top, and it has large pockets. I carry the Visor in one pocket and the Stowaway in another.

In warm weather I just carry the Visor -- in my back pocket. Yes, I know VC devotees will be mortified, but I've gone for two and a half years carrying Palms and Visors that way without getting a scratch.

I have my VDX, a Stowaway keyboard, a Backup springboard, my cell phone, some pens, and the usual cash, keys, and cards to carry around all day. The simplest and best answer: The RhinoPak 3000. It has a shoulder strap to use if you're in Europe (or don't care what folks think) and a hand strap. It's padded, there's no Velcro, and you can use the Visor while it's snapped into its hard cover.

I had the Fossil case at first, and it's a very good one that I was pretty happy with, but once I got the Stowaway I needed a lot more room. I'd still recommend the Fossil if you want a good leather case with room for cards & cash & a pen.

I carry my Visor in an EB Slipper with belt clip. I spend most of my time at a desk, so the Visor is usually in its cradle.

E&B Slipper case with belt clip. I really like the ability to HotSync without having to remove the Visor from the case.

jazzlover: I found that the belt clip is difficult to release unless the pin is at the bottom of the slot when you push the release button. If you don't lift up on the Visor and instead push down on the Visor at the same time you push the release button - it works all the time.

Also - I punched my own hole in the E&B over the reset button hole. This way I don't have to pull the Visor out of the case just to reset it.

My IVDx lives quite happily in an E&B Slipper (with belt clip, though I rarely use it). My environment at work is fairly harsh so I carry the Slipper in a cheap neoprene belt case I got at Wal-Mart (camera dept.) for $5.00. I, too, have added my own reset hole to the Slipper so the Visor only gets removed from the case for battery changes.

Right now I carry my Visor with the screen cover attached and slipped into the included leather slip case. Usually just stick it in the cargo pocket of my shorts. When school starts, I'm going to either just carry it in my pack or invest in a Rhinopack 3000 case so I can carry my Stowaway KB and modules too.

I use a Rhodiana case with the swivel belt clip. Very happy with it.

I use a Rhodiana for the Visor, and a Rhinopack 2000 for the Stowaway, modem, 2V, two 8-meg flashes and a telephone cord. The backup module stays in my desk at work.

Thumbs up

My Visor lives in a Rhodiana case with the belt clip. BTW, I made my own stiffener for the cover from one of those flat plastic dividers that come in most 3 ring binders.

Front left pants poket in an EB Slipper case without belt clip. Works fine when I'm in a suit, but it's a bit snug in jeans.

Like Daryl, EB Slipper case (no belt clip) in either front pocket.

So for the two guys with E&B Slippers....what did you use to punch a reset hole in the case? Mine is on order, and I am sure I will want to make this little modification, but I also don't want to put a huge hole in the back of the case. I was thinking hole punch, but I think that might be to big.........
