-- Screen protector may drain batteries (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10914)
I've been having a problem with battery drain. My batteries die 12 hours after I put them in - even if I haven't used it in those 12 hours!
Here's a new one on me: Handspring technical services said that the constant pressure of a screen protector can cause the battery to drain. I use a Fellowes Write Right screen protector - have been for 5 months. I'm going to do the experiment and take it off today. We'll see how long the batteries last.
That's a bummer if I can't use a screen protector. My visor looks brand new because of the screen protector.

I think that they mean the screen protectors dim your screen a little so you have to turn the contrast up higher. Wouldn't this drain the batteries more?

As far as I remember, contrast doesn't affect battery life, only brightness (on color units) affects battery life.
Can anyone confirm?
